During her 25-year career in accounting and finance, Betty Haas has worked with a variety of companies, including not-for-profit organizations, manufacturers, healthcare institutions, financial services firms, and educational entities.

 

Ms. Haas received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, TN, and has earned the designations of Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida and Certified Government Finance Officer through the Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA). Ms. Haas also holds a Series 28 License.

 

At International Assets Holding Corporation in Altamonte Springs, FL, Ms. Haas managed the accounting functions for the multi-state organization, including payroll, inventory, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable. In addition, she managed accounting for foreign currency exchanges, precious metals, fixed income, convertible notes and other complex debt trades as well as 401(K) plan administration, employee stock options and annual reporting for the firm’s more than 60 employees. As Assistant Controller for Florida Crushed Stone, Leesburg, FL, Ms. Haas managed a variety of accounting, legal, human resources and purchasing areas and successfully represented the firm in federal and state audits. While Finance Director for the City of Winter Garden, FL. Ms. Haas served in an advisory role for senior management. Her areas of expertise included internal and external reporting, statistics, cash management, budgets, grants, tax reporting, and internal controls. In addition to expertise in accounting, Ms. Haas’ business skills include human resources and information technology.

 

Ms. Haas has held prominent senior staff or advanced staff CPA positions with Sines, Girvin & Blakeslee, CPA’s, P.A. Winter Garden, FL, and Ernst & Whinney, Orlando, FL. She has also served at Florida Hospital, Orlando, FL, as staff accountant.

 

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Ms. Haas has studied in Mexico. She is a volunteer member of Bright Horizons Christian Academy in Clermont, FL, and a resident of Ocoee, FL.
